Clare Street studied at the St. John Cass School of Art and works mainly freelance and to commission.
She has won many awards and commendations in the annual competition which is exhibited at Goldsmiths’ Hall, her individual pieces being collected by connoisseurs in this country and overseas.
Clare uses most forms of hand engraving including seal and line engraving of gold and platinum signet rings and cufflinks, seal engraved desk seals, line engraved bookplates and silver plaques, carving in positive relief gold tie studs, brooches and master patterns, die sinking medal and other dies and classical grain setting precious stones in jewellery of her own design.
In addition to heraldic designs, a speciality of Clare’s work is to design and cut personal or corporate seals, and medal dies which – after collaboration with her client – may tell a story of their life or passions, aims or achievements and perhaps include the fun of a pun.
