Contemporary jewellery incorporating precious metals with hand engraved designs and richly coloured enamel.

Specializing in champlevé and basse taille enamelling Rachel Emmerson creates exquisite, sensual pieces of jewellery that posess a unique sense of depth and luminosity. Gently curved forms accentuate the brightly cut textures of the gold and silver creating a wonderful movement of light which reflects through the enamel.

Inspiration is drawn from light patterns within nature and how they reconstruct form and colour. Pieces range from intricately engraved feather motifs contrasting charcoal greys against cyclamen pinks to minimal carved surface planes with subtle blended tones of opalescent and translucent colour.

One-off designs, limited editions and seasonal collections. Commissions undertaken.

Rachel studied three dimensional design at the University of Brighton, specializing in wood, metal and plastics. She later went on to study hand engraving and enamelling at the Birmingham School of Jewellery.
